Why Mammath Exists: Formative Assessment for Maths Teachers

Mammath is founded by a maths teacher, for maths teachers.

Our mission is to empower teachers with data in their classroom so that they can plan their next steps effectively.

Data, through diagnostic and formative assessment, is central to a Clinical Teaching Cycle in which teachers determine what students are ready to learn next so they can plan instruction accordingly.

The challenge is getting quality data quickly and easily.

Mammath was born out of frustration with many other education web services that either:

• are covered with distracting ads that slow down the page

• prioritise entertainment engagement over education

• lack data persistence and the tools necessary for insight

• have individual student accounts that require complex management and waste precious time with login issues

• are general purpose and hence don't display maths problems very well

• are prohibitively expensive for individual teachers to fund from their own pocket

• have poor user interface design and sluggish performance
